I'm quite new around here and I have a question to all of you vinyl gentlemen and gentlewomen.
Iv'e been collecting vinyls for some time now and I'm rather proud about my modest assembly of techno, dnb and breakbeat records. However the thing which I use to hear them is a single, rather crappy old player that looks as if it's about to break down every minute. My machine is, by far, not apt for any mixing, and anyway I have just this single one.
The question I'd like to address to you is whether buying a couple of record players which are not Technics made is really worth the money. Most of the people I know said that unless its the normal Technics Mk2 I shouldn't bother wasting my money. But, of course, I don't really have the money for a Technics...
What do all of you vinyl people think?

Hello, my name is Conrad and I am a vinyl addict.
My record supplier, a chap named Paul (who is also now a friend of mine) in the UK, has a corner of his flat in Ireland dedicated to the pile of records that I either win from him on eBay or he offers to me because he wants me to have them. His last shipment to me was over 400 records, and his latest shipment was another several hundred records. He has shown me the receipt for shipping, which was several hundred dollars for 3-5 day Airmail shipping including insurance. That was a month ago. Royal Post has seen fit to send this huge box of records economy instead, and has stripped it of the insurance that was bought and paid for, with little to no recourse. What does this mean to me? 4-6 months shipping, Paul gets screwed, I get screwed, and if the records are damaged, there is absolutely no recourse.
Please keep me in your prayers, the next 4-6 months are going to be hard.
